Validation task still spins in status bar after error

After saving a file, I got this error:

[error] [validateSymitarPowerOn] socket hang up

But the Validating status spinner continued to spin rather than realizing the task had failed

    Howdy! Sorry this is happening for you, could you share which connector you’re using? Is it SSH or HTTPs and if you do CTRL + Shift + P > Reload Window and re-try does it continue to have issues?

      HTTPS.
      Reload Window fixes all things, of course, and it’s rare that I get a socket hangup when trying to validate, but it would be good if the failure bubbled up and stopped the spinner.

        I 100% agree, we’ll work to get this included in v1.10 release. We have an internal goal of this Friday for it.
